SDF is SUPROL’s most premium and hi-tech coating. SDF is the advanced variant of Electra coating, designed especially for the discerning user who leads an active life. Due to its proprietary and robust design, it comes with a coating promise of 18 months. It is designed to work with all SUPROL hard coats, across the entire SUPROL material range.

AR Coatings in general improve the transmission of light through the lenses. This helps in three key ways:

  • Increases the aesthetic appeal of lenses – since the eye is more visible through an AR coated lens, than through a Hard Coated, or Uncoated lenses
  • Improves Visual acuity – since more light passes through the lens into the eye, it improves the eye’s visual acuity
  • Reduces eye strain – since increased transmission emulates natural vision more closely, the eye feels more natural, and feels less strain

SDF Coating, in addition to the benefits of a standard AR coating, consists of five functional layers that offer several added benefits. These include:

  • Protect from ambient Electro-Magnetic (EMI) Radiation – EMI radiation is linked with corneal damage, and damage to eye tissue
  • Enhances life of lens  – unique anti-static layer from the SDF coating stack prevents dust from sticking to the lens; less dust means less scratches, and easier cleaning
  • Cleanest Lens EVER – SDF lenses are by design the cleanest lenses – due to oleophobic additives to the coating, they repel oil, and don’t let oil sit on the lens. Moreover, the coating stack makes it really really easy to clean the lens
  • Improves all-weather performance – SDF coating stack repels water as well; even in heavy rain, and adverse weather conditions, water and dust don’t stick to the lens, making it easier to see in higher-risk conditions such as adverse weather
